Saturday, May 19th 2018-Island Garage Sale- Retail merchants and Island homeowners join together for one big Island Wide Garage Sale. On Saturday, May 19, 2018. A Map with locations for the individual garage sales will be distributed to local merchants and ferry boat lines the weekend before. They will also be available the day of at open Restaurants and merchants. Don’t miss out on the big bargains at the Heritage Resale Shop at the Lake Erie Island Historical Society.

Monday, May 28, 2018- is Memorial Day.  From Friday through Monday active duty service persons and veterans get discounts at many local businesses.  Both Ferries will be giving special discounts on Memorial Day.

June 9th 2018- 2nd Annual PIB Music Festival This family friendly festival brings bluegrass, new grass, folk, zydeco, pop, rhythm & blues to the stage for a FREE day-long concert at Perry’s Victory & International Peace Memorial here on South Bass Island. Miller Boat Line sponsors the event it is a collaboration between many partners, including the Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce, the National Park Service, the Perry Group (Perry’s Victory’s Friends Group), The Ohio Arts Council and the Lake Erie Islands Historical Society.

Saturday, June 16th 2018-The 12th Annual Island Pooch Parade will be held in DeRivera Park. Dogs of all kinds and sizes are encouraged to bring their owners and participate in the fun. Registration for this amusing fun event will open in the Park Gazebo at 10 a.m.., followed by the children led traditional “doggie stroll” around the Park at 10:30.  Judging will immediately follow the parade. The $10 entry fee makes your closest friend qualified to compete for prizes in one or more of the following categories: smallest dog, largest dog, most talented dog, individual best dressed dog, group best dressed dogs, and finally the dog that looks most like its owner. Volunteer judges will ponder the pooches.  The fun event is always a smooth, fast paced affair with no “paws”. This is always an enjoyable and entertaining event for the whole island and especially for the children. Put it on your calendar and we’ll see you June 16th.

Saturday, June 16th 2018-The annual Founders Day Celebration at Put-in-Bay will be held in the center of the village at DeRivera Park from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm. This free, family-focused island event, is hosted by the Put-in-Bay Chamber of Commerce, and celebrates the founding of Put-in-Bay by Hispanic merchant Jose DeRivera. Founders Day will feature live entertainment, playing popular tunes in a fair-type atmosphere. Put-in-Bay’s EMTs will bring the miniature Life Flight helicopter for the kids to ride, and hand out safety information. There will also be local crafters and jewelry makers selling their wares. Pick up a vintage Put-in-Bay souvenir, handcrafted items, tee-shirts, jewelry and more.

June 22nd-June 24th-Pyrate Fest Is an all inclusive family friendly event designed to bring free entertainment, education, and adventure to visitors from the midwest. Event features parades, costume contest, education, living re-enactment, 5K run/walk and more. With free admission, this is the perfect family event!

4th of July- US Naturalization Ceremony and Freedom Concert will be held at Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial. A Fireworks display, provided by Put-in-Bay businesses and Friends of the Bay, will begin at dusk. The fireworks will be shot off of a barge in the downtown harbor. Everyone is welcome to view the fireworks from the lawn of Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial. Parking will be available at the Peace Garden Lot on the corner of Park Ave

The Put-in-Bay Cup is a highly anticipated island event. This tournament is the keystone to our tournament series, as this is truly the essence of a soccer party.  Every year visitors flock to Put-in-Bay Ohio for an island retreat. The Put-in-Bay Cup offers a great time on and off the field. Book your rooms early as they fill up fast.  

August 2nd -August 5th- I-LYA SENIOR SAIL RACEWEEK The 125th running of the annual race week including the “deepwater” race from Sandusky to Put-in-Bay on Thursday night.  Hosted at the Put-in-Bay Yacht Club.

August 4th-August 11th-The Lake Erie Islands Nature and Wildlife Center, the Lake Erie Conservancy and the Put-in-Bay Township Park District work together to present a week of activities to highlight the green side of the islands.

August 4th-Explore the waters surrounding Middle Bass Island and vie for some great prizes during the Middle Bass Island Poker Kayak Day on Saturday, August 4th. The kayakers will start and finish at the Middle Bass Island State Park camping area. Participants will paddle the island shores of Lake Erie around Middle Bass Island stopping at two preserves and the State Park. There will be lunch at the final stop including hot dogs, chips, fruit and water. Everyone is welcome and the cost is $10.00. Whether you are a beginner or advanced kayaker.

August 6th- ECO Tour-Participants can meet at the Put-in-Bay Town Hall any time from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on August 6th to pick up the tour packet. This includes maps, tour booklet, several goodies, freebies, and coupons from island businesses. This unique ramble and island tour will include many fun nature related stops. Among the highlights planned will be hiking Coopers Woods and seeing a natural cave and a visit to Historic Gibraltar Island. Go inside a 1912 historic island home with a 75-gallon fresh water aquarium filled with native species. Tea and cookies will be provided at this historic island home on Bayview Ave. overlooking the harbor of Put-in-Bay where porch sitting will be welcomed. Tour an island vineyard and glacial grooves. This is going to include discounts at several restaurants and gift shops will be given to Island Ramblers on this tour. Participants must provide their own transportation. Cost $20.00/adult

August 6th- Stargazers DateThe stars will light up the sky as island resident, retired teacher, and astronomer Jay Reynolds will engage the guests about the night sky, planets, and stars. This will allow you an opportunity to enjoy a show from outer space from the ferry boat. Heineman’s Winery is donating wine, and there will also be snacks provided. Tickets prices are: Adults $20 and Kids $10. The cruise will leave from the downtown Miller Boat Line Dock on Bayview Ave. at 9:00 pm. Please be at the dock at 8:45 pm to load, as the ferry will leave at 9:00 pm, and return at approximately 11:00 pm.

September 8th - September 9th- PERRY'S VICTORY HERITAGE FESTIVAL The 205th Anniversary of the Battle of Lake Erie is a celebration of history, art and music.  It is also a celebration of Perry’s naval victory and two centuries of peace shared by the United States, Canada and Great Britain.  A War of 1812 Military encampment will take place all weekend and 1200 BoyScouts camp out on the Memorial’s East lawn for their annual camporee

September 8th- ART IN THE PARK FESTIVAL  The annual Art in the Park Festival is an area and regional arts and craftspeople gathering to display and sell their original works in photography, watercolor, acrylic, pottery, glass, stained glass, fabric, wood and paper. Live demonstrations and silent auction that benefits Put-in-Bay Arts. 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in DeRivera Park.

September 15thMILLER BOAT LINE 5K AND 1 MILE FAMILY FUN WALK Runners & walkers of all ages welcome! Attend this annual 5K & 1 Mile Family Fun Walk Saturday, September 15 at Put-in-Bay, Ohio. The race begins near The Boathouse Restaurant downtown. A scenic course, much of it winding along the island shoreline, participants consider this to be one of the most beautiful runs in Ohio. September 15thNEW YEAR'S EVE AT THE BAY Come celebrate New Year’s Eve! The Island businesses will celebrate New Year’s Eve with a Monte Carlo style street party. With games like Big Six, Texas Hold’em, Blackjack, High and Low and other casino style games. Some of the business establishments will hand out traditional New Year’s Party Hats and accessories. Event will be held on Delaware Avenue in downtown Put-in-Bay from 6:00pm – 10:00pm.

September 22ndHALF WAY TO ST. PATTY'S DAY  Celebrate the half-way mark to St. Patrick’s Day with a Parade at Hooligan’s Irish Pub.  Hooligan’s sponsors a Drum and Bagpipe Marching Band for the parade. Island restaurants will serve Irish food and beverages.

September 25th - September 26th 10TH ANNUAL VINTAGE SPORTS CAR ROAD RACE REUNION Over 100 vintage sports cars will converge on Put-in-Bay for three days of Activities. Racing events will take place at the Put-in-Bay Airport. Qualifying starts on Monday afternoon then the island “Road Race” Parade will take place Monday evening with a ceremonial lap around the original Put-in-Bay street course. Then all the racing takes place on Tuesday with the “King of the Rock” Cup Race wrapping up a full day of racing. Wednesday the cars will be on display for a car show. October 6th- ISLAND WINE FESTIVAL  Sample Foreign and Domestic wines, including Island Wines.  Enjoy a relaxing afternoon of good food, and excellent wine.  Admission ($10) includes a souvenir wine glass. Sample tickets are $1 and most of the samples are in the $2-$5 range.  Purchase a full bottle to take home.

October 13th - October 14th OKTOBERFEST The 25th annual German-style festival features German food, hot spiced wine and cold beer. Fantastic food including brats, potato pancakes, apple dumplings, stuffed cabbage, pierogi, cabbage and noodles, schnitzel, pies and German Chocolate cake provided by Put-in-Bay Chamber Member Restaurants. Live polka and German music and German dancers will be there to entertain both days.

October 20th- HOMECOMING WEEKEND We welcome back old friends and co-workers from past years.  There will be a bar crawl competition and a mourning of the end of another great season at Put-in-Bay. This event is open to anyone who has worked a summer anywhere on the islands, so please invite your friends!
